If you are an artist who believes in gold as a hedge in today's difficult economic climate this little book by Bette Ridgeway is the gold you should invest in, but it's really an investment in yourself! You are the artist but "talent is just the beginning".

From that point forward the artist needs to market and sell her/his work in order to continue as an artist and Bette Ridgeway tells it all...condensed from her long experience as artist, teacher, gallery owner, web designer, and art consultant. Her understanding of the multiple and perplexing problems facing every beginning and advanced artist in today's challenging and changing art market makes this book the complete guide and reference book that none of us should be without.

Talent is Just the Beginning - an artist's guide to marketing in the 21st-Century

May 9, 2009

Ridgeway's book is an unbelievably current source of useful information for the visual artist. She artfully guides the reader to the most relevant issues and resources in an eminently readable format. There are many useful websites cited. The book should be in every artist's library.

Highly recommended

If you own only one book about art marketing, this is the one to own. It is concise, well-written, filled with valuable information, and, because it is written by an artist, particularly sensitive to artist's concerns. I recommend it to anyone who wants to send his or her artwork out into the world.
